Making your Sunday worthwhile :)

When was the last time you did something for someone else, sparing your precious time to lighten someone's day with no selfish motive? Something you did just for that smile, for the glow in the eye of that person and to make the person feel that the world is still a beautiful place to live in. You might sell your soul to the devil but have you ever tried to do it for the sake of a fellow human being? Well, we hardly do manage to get time for our own family and therefore doing it for the third person remains just a thought.

Every birthday, anniversary, celebration; we end up spending so much money partying hard which gives us temporary happiness. But what about the internal peace, the eternal joy that prevails only when we are the reason for a smile on someone’s face- It’s just beyond words! How often do we get a chance to do something for someone else? Well, the answer is Everyday but we are the ones who refrain to take a step ahead. We would flaunt our ‘Being Human’ T-shirts but the question still remains, do we really try to be a good human?

A teenager starts cursing his life just because his parents dint buy him a new laptop, A wife might get a little upset just because her husband dint take her out for dinner on the weekend; and such minor things might tumble us because we start prioritizing things which hardly matter. In this life we keep running, running from the past to the present and then from the present; thinking about the future.. We forget to live our lives! We think so much that the whole time thinking, we forget to DO it. Now it’s time to put your thoughts into actions.

Whenever you earn a sum of money, think for a moment to give a part of it to someone who really needs it. When you lavishly enjoy your Sunday brunch, apportion food to someone who hasn’t had a piece of bread in days. When you are lazily enjoying those weekends doing just nothing, don’t let your time go in vain; for all your wishes to do something good could come true. You could join in a group and do something for those slum dwellers, for the people who work for you, the people who work under you, those maids who truly are the backbone of your house, the peons in your college to get your work done every time  and the people who really need you in the slightest way, but fail to say!

In the end we shall take nothing but memories along us. It’s not about the money in your pocket but the good deeds you did throughout your life. So why not make someone smile and make your Sunday worthwhile :) ! !

Give time sometime!

We might have made a million mistakes. And with every mistake, We tend to learn a new lesson. We might have come across new people, made new friends and eventually lost them. In this pretty selfish life, We end up doing things which are ethically wrong; Spit out words we shouldn't have and Lost people who ONCE meant the most to us. But does making mistakes make you regret the life you have been gifted with, the life you cherished and the years you lived so far??

With every passing phase, Life alters us. And we choose either to keep whining for the things lost or to move on instead of shedding tears and showing our weakness. And we chose the one life taught us. We realize that things would never go like we plan and those dreams might get shattered ahead of us like pieces of glass and we might end up standing there all numb and spellbound. But eventually we shall learn to let go; All those emotions, the people who stood by us always but turned judgmental And along with them we shall learn to forget everything after those endless sleepless nights. All we carry along with us will be those bittersweet memories they gave us!

Slowly and intensely, time heals everything. And if we have been brave, someday life shall bring a new hope in our life. After all those gloomy nights, shall come a new day. The sun will shine and it will be a new beginning; and if we are lucky, we might find that someone to come and share those sorrows and smiles. ‘Life is full of surprises, If you just wait for the right moment.’

The ultimate midnight food - Manek chowk ! !

When it comes to late night food, the first place that comes to our mind is Manek chowk - those mouth-watering delicacies at midnight, the crazy night outs with friends and those little experiences all of us share. Manek chowk is famous for late night food that too at an affordable price. It specializes in MANY different varieties of edibles that we call 'street food'. The food is just so good anytime, any day and the same quality round the year. The best thing is its worth spending and it comes in everyone's budget. Remember the utterly-buttery Gwalia dosa..butter dripping from it,you can actually dip in d butter instead of the sambhar and there is bhaji-pav and cheese pulav which has a layer of cheese on it. I bet you are drooling already but there is lot more to add to it. You get Asharfi's kulfi, jalebi, fafda, the famous gujarati dish i.e. khichu and all different types of bhels.

During the day,you see people working, involved in their own little things and a lot of chaos while at the night, its full of lights. The place is really vibrant and it seems like people come together for something akin to cultural fusion. Its marvelous how the entire street is lit up. Every night is like the eve of a festival. The people serve YOU with such love and warmth like YOU own a prominent place in their heart. I remember AN incident when my sister forgot her wallet at one of the stalls there and the man came right to our car to return it. IT IS BECAUSE OF SUCH HONEST AND WELCOME SERVICE that this place is the heart of the city since SO MANY years.

The mysterious dark night !

Here comes the dark grey night,
I wonder why its so scary without the light!

How I feel every night since history,
It reveals a hidden new mystery!

The fear that someone is looking at u,
The scary feeling that someone is following u !

The gloomy atmosphere and the fierce sounds,
Everything is so dark around !

Every night just before the dawn,
In the mystic murkiness, someone silently mourns!

Those little footsteps make their way to my room,
And I get goose bumps as the sounds get irksome!

Laying the heavy footsteps on the floor,
Someone is steadily making way to my door!

The voices get squeaky and louder,
The dark shadow is getting bigger!

Taking a deep breath I just pray to God,
Before the intruder enters, let the moment just pause !

Someone please come to my rescue,
Before its too late,Get me out of these blues!

My heart skips a beat, horrified I shut my eyes,
And then surprisingly comes my mom to wish me goodnight :)

What if there were no conditions in life? ? ?

Whenever one does any activity that may include going for shopping, opening a bank account, any transaction that you make or even a bet you take... The only condition which applies to all these situations is the ‘conditions applied (*)’.

Till now, there has been no life that has lived without conditions, but what if they actually disappeared??? One could make any choice, any decision and any resolution without thinking of future circumstances and moreover not taking into consideration the present state of life also. ‘Spend all you earn, thinking of no tomorrow’ shall be the mantra. Any situation in life will have its pros and cons, and so do conditions!

Looking towards a positive side of it, conditions in a student's life boosts him up to study harder and score well. Wouldn't you study harder if your dad would offer you a blackberry for an 'A' grade? Or maybe new car after you turn 18? And you could purchase anything; get a loan and whatever you wished for with no conditions! My answer would be an obvious yes to all of it, trying to ensure better score next time for sure. Such incentives, in fact conditions most of the times motivates a student to work towards the incentive. Thus, making it inevitable for the parents to use it!

It might seem that conditions make our life quite easier. Though for every decision we make, there is always a ‘but’ behind it. And the ‘but’ very often remains unknown, or even if known it’s not well understood. If you do not make sure what the prerequisite is, how do you stay prepared for the future? Now we are on the right tack!
I believe that having no conditions in life shall instead make it complicated. Out of the blue, your phone bursts out because there were no conditions in the memo that 'You should not use the phone while charging it'. The microwave might be the reason for a short circuit because you used a steel vessel. Scares you, isn't it?

Well, conditions have become a part of this life. We cannot totally do away with it but limiting the conditions can certainly make our life better. But one should certainly not have any conditions placed, in living this life to the fullest, to cherish every little moment, to make the slightest attempt for someone's smile which brightens your day. Don't stop eating those amazing delicacies just because you fear of gaining few kilos, to try something new in the fear of becoming cautious... Remember, it’s the experiments which turn into miracles!!!
